Cancellation & Refund Policy

Ganga Sagar TOURISM

At Ganga Sagar TOURISM, we understand that travel plans can sometimes change because of personal reasons, health issues, train or flight changes, weather conditions, or other unexpected situations.

At the same time, once a booking is confirmed, we may need to make advance payments for hotels, vehicles, ferry or boat services, meals, guides, local transportation, and other travel arrangements.

For this reason, the following Cancellation & Refund Policy applies to all bookings made with Ganga Sagar TOURISM.

1. Booking Confirmation

A booking will be considered confirmed only after we receive the required advance payment and send booking confirmation to the customer.

The advance amount may be used for confirming services such as:

  • Hotel or accommodation
  • Car, bus or other transportation
  • Ferry or boat arrangements
  • Local transportation at GangaSagar
  • Meals
  • Guide or travel assistance
  • Puja/Darshan arrangements
  • Other services included in the selected package

Once these services are booked with third-party suppliers, some payments may become non-refundable.

2. General Cancellation Charges

For regular GangaSagar tour packages, the following cancellation charges may apply:

30 Days or More Before Travel

Cancellation charge: 20% of the total package amount

The remaining eligible amount will be refunded after deducting any non-refundable third-party charges.

15 to 29 Days Before Travel

Cancellation charge: 30% of the total package amount

Any hotel, vehicle, ferry or other supplier charges that are already non-refundable will also be deducted.

7 to 14 Days Before Travel

Cancellation charge: 50% of the total package amount

3 to 6 Days Before Travel

Cancellation charge: 75% of the total package amount

Less Than 72 Hours Before Travel

No refund will normally be available.

No-Show

If a guest does not arrive or does not join the tour on the confirmed travel date, the booking will be treated as a No-Show and no refund will be provided.

3. Ganga Sagar Mela Cancellation Policy

Ganga Sagar Mela is a peak pilgrimage period. Hotels, vehicles, local transport, meals and other services are often booked well in advance and may require non-refundable payments.

Therefore, a separate cancellation policy applies to Ganga Sagar Mela packages.

30 Days or More Before Arrival

Up to 70% of the package amount may be refundable, subject to deductions for non-refundable hotel, transport and other supplier payments.

15 to 29 Days Before Arrival

Up to 50% may be refundable, after applicable deductions.

7 to 14 Days Before Arrival

Up to 25% may be refundable, after applicable deductions.

Less Than 7 Days Before Arrival

No refund will normally be provided.

During peak Mela dates, certain bookings may be completely non-refundable from the date of confirmation. If this applies to your booking, we will inform you before or at the time of confirmation.

4. Hotel & Accommodation Cancellation

Hotel and accommodation bookings are subject to the cancellation rules of the respective hotel, lodge, camp, guest house or accommodation provider.

During Ganga Sagar Mela, Makar Sankranti, public holidays and other peak periods, accommodation providers may require:

100% advance payment and 100% non-refundable booking.

Once such accommodation has been confirmed and paid for, Ganga Sagar TOURISM may not be able to issue a refund.

5. Private Ferry / Boat Booking

Private ferry or boat services are arranged separately based on availability, passenger requirements, tide conditions, government regulations and local operating conditions.

If an advance has already been paid to the boat or ferry operator, that amount may be partially or completely non-refundable.

If the service cannot operate because of weather, government restrictions, safety instructions or other circumstances beyond our control, any refund will depend on the refund received from the actual service provider.

6. Vehicle Cancellation

Vehicles are reserved specifically for the confirmed travel date.

If the booking is cancelled after the vehicle has been reserved, cancellation charges may apply.

For last-minute cancellations, especially within 72 hours of travel, the vehicle amount may be completely non-refundable.

7. Train or Flight Cancellation

Cancellation, delay or rescheduling of a customer’s train, flight or other transportation does not automatically cancel the Ganga Sagar TOURISM booking.

If your train or flight is cancelled or delayed, please contact us as early as possible.

We will try to adjust the travel arrangements where practically possible, but additional charges may apply.

Normal cancellation rules will apply if booked services cannot be changed or refunded.

8. Cancellation Due to Bad Weather, Natural Events or Government Restrictions

GangaSagar travel involves road transportation, ferry services and local transportation.

Services may sometimes be affected by:

  • Bad weather
  • Heavy rain
  • Fog
  • Cyclones
  • High tide or low tide
  • Ferry suspension
  • Natural disasters
  • Government restrictions
  • Police or local administration instructions
  • Road closures
  • Strikes or transport disruptions
  • Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control

In such situations, Ganga Sagar TOURISM will try to provide a suitable alternative wherever reasonably possible.

However, a full refund cannot always be guaranteed because payments may already have been made to hotels, vehicle operators, ferry operators and other suppliers.

Any eligible refund will be calculated after deducting services already used and non-refundable supplier charges.

9. Change of Travel Date

Instead of cancelling, customers may request a change of travel date.

Date changes are subject to:

  • Availability
  • Hotel availability
  • Vehicle availability
  • Ferry availability
  • Seasonal rates
  • Supplier terms
  • Revised package prices

A date-change or rescheduling charge may apply.

If the new travel date has a higher package price, the customer will need to pay the difference.

Changing a confirmed date is not guaranteed.

10. Partial Cancellation

If one or more members of a group cancel while the remaining guests continue travelling, the package cost per person may change.

This happens because vehicle, hotel and other shared costs are divided among fewer travellers.

The revised package cost will be calculated based on the final number of travelling passengers.

11. Unused Services

No refund will normally be provided for services that a guest voluntarily chooses not to use after the journey has started.

This may include:

  • Meals
  • Hotel stay
  • Ferry journey
  • Sightseeing
  • Local transportation
  • Puja/Darshan assistance
  • Guide service
  • Vehicle service
  • Any other included service

12. Early Departure

If a guest decides to leave the tour early for personal reasons, no refund will normally be provided for the unused portion of the package.

We will, however, assist wherever reasonably possible with necessary travel arrangements. Any additional cost will be payable by the guest.

13. Advance Booking Amount

The booking advance confirms the customer’s reservation and allows us to start arranging the requested services.

A reasonable part of the advance may be treated as a booking and service charge to cover reservation work, coordination and administrative expenses.

Any clearly identified non-refundable amount will be communicated to the customer during the booking process.

14. Special or Customized Packages

Customized tours, group bookings, corporate bookings, special accommodation arrangements, private ferry bookings and specially arranged services may have separate cancellation conditions.

The applicable terms will be communicated at the time of quotation or booking confirmation.

15. Refund Processing

If a refund is approved, it will be calculated after deducting:

  • Applicable cancellation charges
  • Non-refundable hotel charges
  • Transportation cancellation charges
  • Ferry/boat cancellation charges
  • Payment gateway or banking charges, where applicable
  • Services already provided
  • Other non-refundable supplier costs

The approved refund will normally be returned through the original payment method or another mutually agreed payment method.

Bank processing time may vary.

16. Refund Amount

The refundable amount will be based on the amount actually received by Ganga Sagar TOURISM for the applicable booking.

Discounts, promotional benefits, complimentary services or unused free services do not have a separate cash refund value unless specifically stated otherwise.

17. Cancellation Request

All cancellation requests should be made in writing through the official communication channel used for the booking, such as WhatsApp, email or another confirmed contact method.

The cancellation date will be considered the date and time when we receive the cancellation request.

Verbal cancellation alone may not be treated as a confirmed cancellation.

18. Booking Through Third Parties

If a booking is made through an agent, online platform, hotel partner or another third party, the cancellation and refund rules of that booking channel may also apply.

Customers should contact the original booking provider where necessary.

19. Important Note for Ganga Sagar Mela Travellers

Ganga Sagar Mela is one of the busiest pilgrimage periods of the year.

Accommodation, vehicles, ferry arrangements and local services may become limited close to the Mela dates.

We strongly recommend confirming your travel only after checking your train or flight schedule and finalizing the number of passengers.

Please carefully review the cancellation terms before making payment.

20. Our Commitment

Our aim is to handle every genuine cancellation request fairly while considering payments and commitments already made for your journey.

Where possible, we may try to offer:

  • Date rescheduling
  • Alternative travel dates
  • Package adjustment
  • Credit toward another booking

Such options depend on availability, supplier rules and the circumstances of the booking and are not guaranteed.
